almost con time<3333 - i may have finished con prep too early...(last week)...but I might like this actually... a calm before 'the storm' ;^^ actually it's the aniticipation to see old friends and new faces that's killing me ^^
Okay! this page I...tried a paper conservation trick.
Usually i size my thumbnail onto a template on PS and turn the lines light blue and then print that on plain 'ol paper >draw pencils >scan back in and print blue pencils onto inking ppr for inx.
But after a conversation with my sibling I realized I was using excess paper and ink.
So! I scanned and sized the thumbnail as usual, and then Fliped that image, and printed it out on the back of my inking ppr >drew the pencils on the mirror imaged blue lines >and then flipped and traced the pencils with ink on the other side ontop of my spiffy light table<3333
Not only was I able to double chk my work via the mirroring, BUT i conserved ink and paper!<3 AND the pencils and inx remain seperate...which I'm not sure why that is so important...but it makes me feel better to have them seperate...;^^ (maybe the smudging one gets from erasing the underlying pencils when you ink directly ontop...yes...I do tend to go heavy on the graphite ;^^)
so anyways, I look foreward to future page quality ^^<3
AND i finished the written outline for chp 10 today,so...I only have one page left in my sketchbook ;;;;^^ so i hafta use the front and back for the thumbnails ><!
thank goodness the con might provide moneys for that... if not...i'll be stealing printer paper from family members ;-_-

Noooo.. - and he did it again..he spoiled the moment xD I even started whishing kea would fall in love with him..but now..kea slap him !! ^^'
Tiffany (Guest), September 8th, 2009, 11:41 am
Oh Well - Yeah I agree with Ivy. He spoiled the moment again. But I guess wherever he came from, he wouldn't know the first thing about being completely honest. Honestly, I am about to give up on him. It's still a great story though.
Xejn (Guest), September 8th, 2009, 12:48 pm
- T_T Oy... I'm with you Ivy and Tiffany. A slap is called for.
PomeiLione, September 8th, 2009, 2:52 pm
- Ahahaha, I knew he was going to pull something stupid like that.
Death-Destination, September 8th, 2009, 4:03 pm
- Ah. he's such an idiot; his answer to yur questions Kea is yes ^^ Can't wait to see how he actually reacts to that ^^
calamari (Guest), September 8th, 2009, 6:09 pm
- And once again we see that he has absolutely no social graces ^^;; Love ya anyway.
Kita-Angel, September 8th, 2009, 6:37 pm
- A trick you could try instead of printing with pale blue ink and re-scanning again:
Just do everything in pale blue pencil lead on your actual paper! It takes time and practice (I've always found it harder to erase blue lead) but in the end, once scanned all you see are the inks! Blue lead for mechanical pencils are more easily found in .7 size, but not all places supply them, it depends on the demand for colored lead. It's still great fun to use!

Wooooow - Well... at least it sounds like something Zoshi would do.
..seriously, I just keep rereading that and I just can't help but giggle.
It's just so TERRIBLE! He basically says he has cancer or something to her father so her father will be nice.
That's just such a terrible thing to lie about XD
Twitch (Guest), September 8th, 2009, 10:03 pm
- Mann... That sucks; he shouldn't have said that! >_<"
Still love it though. ^_^'
kuroi_hitsuji, September 9th, 2009, 1:52 am
- *dies laughing* terminally ill?! XDDD oh dears now I really hope he didn't tell the truth. OH WELL...
Zoshi....good ol'... *dies loling*
Xejn (Guest), September 9th, 2009, 9:59 am
Hair - I wonder how much product it takes for Zoshi to keep his hair up like that? Or is it just natural Asian wirey-hairness (I have a friend who doesn't need product to do awesome things to his hair due to his amazing genes via the Asian side.)Or magics?
Diane (Guest), September 9th, 2009, 3:38 pm
PFFT! - Okay, Kea, you have my blessing to smack him.
Producer1 (Guest), September 9th, 2009, 6:06 pm
Wow - That seems like so much effort. Why don't you just scan them into an art programme and digitally ink them? Idk, it works for me but I suppose I'm not an epic webcomic author (yet).
Yay NDK is so close! It's too bad I have to miss Friday. I'm gonna drop by satuday to your booth and buy a sticker, because they're so lovely. I wonder if you can spot me before I tell you who I am. :-D
Xejn (Guest), September 9th, 2009, 8:15 pm
Comic Sketchings - @Producer1: I wondered the same thing Angichan. Why do you not go all digital?
Guest, September 9th, 2009, 9:25 pm
@ xejn - It would seem like so much of a difference, doesn't it? Of paper conservation and through the disestablishmentation of sheer effort. :-V
Producer1 (Guest), September 9th, 2009, 9:32 pm
@ guest - Disestablishmentation? Excuse my ignorance but I don't believe that a word XD
Guest, September 9th, 2009, 9:33 pm
@ P1 - It's not one.....yet. xD
Xejn (Guest), September 9th, 2009, 9:39 pm
- @guest & @Producer1- I'm a bit biased though. I'm a graphic designer and electronic artist. Sooooo, I use the medium all the time. I shouldn't expect everyone else to be so comfortable with it. It does take a while to get used to that semi-wall you have when you work in digital. Working with the analog tools, you do get the sensory input you are deprived with in the computer realm. Still, when you are working with deadlines, you have to do what you have to do to get the job done!
LaDeeDa (Guest), September 10th, 2009, 12:06 am
- Wah! I finally caught up! Yesh!
Anyway, I love love love this comic. It is by far my favorite that I've stumbled on so far.
Nenna (Guest), September 10th, 2009, 2:44 am
- This was a great read! I stayed up far later than I should have to catch up and typed far more than is healthy for my wrists right now and it's well worth the pain. I look forward to more mayhem and fun!
Producer1 (Guest), September 10th, 2009, 6:45 am
Well then - I suppose I'll just agree then :)

Replies needed: - Kita: I loves teh blue pencils, but I need to blow up my tiny thumbnails to full page size and print them out. I don't like to redraw the whole thing, and the technique saves time ;^^ (and I learned it from Amy Hadley, so i lurves it muchly<3)
All artists have thier prefered techniques they are comfortable with...
Xejn: I know for sure that Z doesn't use hair gel ^__^ nice question! lol
Producer: I used all digital for Chp2 of my 24hr comic, Sueno, and the 'Brushy' texture i got in it fit the story.
But I'm afraid I'm a control freak and though I've religiously used my wacom for going on 11 years, I feel i'm faster and have more control in my traditional pencils and inx (plus I love my Takawa School-G pen so much!)
BUT, when I can finally afford a Cintiq which brings the hand to the screen in the same manner as hand to paper, THEN i may be able to use a completely digital process, and save ALLOT on art supplies >_< <3
All my coloring is digital right now and I love the range of media that can be achieved, and even new and unknown effects and techniques the physical realm is incapable of.
And again, every artist has thier prefered techniques to creating thier work ;^^
Thank you for the suggestions and questions!

- But maybe Zoshi really IS ill? Can't ruin the moment if what he said is true.
Yangyexin, January 12th, 2012, 3:27 pm
- Goddamnit I saw it coming, I saw it coming...xD
